R ise Academy is one of the leading basketball training programs in the country. Rise prides itself on teaching players how to play rather than recruiting players that can already play. Rise consultants spend countless hours trying to find the perfect school and the perfect situation for each of their athletes. Basketball at Rise is treated as an individual sport so each athlete can achieve their individual success. We pride ourselves on quality not quantity. We believe that often times, players must be in the right situation at the right time so they can impress the right individuals. Only certain programs understand the importance of this individual success over team success, and we take pride in being such a program. An example of this success occurred when Sam Rines, founder of Rise Academy, was approached about putting together an AAU summer team that would be sponsored by a sneaker company. The starting five players of this team consisted of Kobe Bryant and Rip Hamilton and three other seniors. Obviously, Kobe and Rip made it to the NBA, but the other three seniors because of the situation they were placed in and who they were able to be teamed up with, received scholarships to major division one universities. Since then, Rise has continued to see success with having such players such as Matt Carroll and Rasual Butler as well as current day players Tyreke Evans and Terrence Roderick.
